Our operations

Our helicopters and critical care vehicles deliver expert medical care swiftly across Devon’s most challenging terrains.

When every second counts, fast access to our Critical Care Doctors and Paramedics is vital. Devon’s two emergency helicopters ensure we deliver expert critical care to patients, wherever they are.

Our four Critical Care Cars allow our medical team to respond quickly by road, especially in urban areas. These vehicles continue operating when poor weather or maintenance grounds the helicopters, and they carry the same life-saving equipment as our air ambulances.

Devon’s vast geography, with its coastlines, villages, and rural areas, can make reaching patients by road difficult. In some cases, getting the right emergency treatment to them requires air support.

Our paramedics and doctors may accompany patients to hospital by land ambulance, but when the best hospital isn’t the nearest, our helicopters ensure they reach the right care much faster.
