This event takes place on 19th November and again on 20th November 2025

Intubation & surgical skills

There are 32 spaces available, 16 on each date: Wednesday 19th November & Thursday 20th November 2025.

These two dates offer a valuable opportunity to work with cadavers to learn and refine both surgical and airway skills, which can be taken away to improve patient care and outcomes. It’s ideal for clinicians looking to gain further experience and exposure relevant to their clinical work both pre and in-hospital.

The 1-day course will be spent working with human cadavers, with minimal talks to ensure the hands-on opportunity is maximised. As a candidate you will have the opportunity to;

  • Perform multiple intubations, and airway assistant roles using both DL and VL, both standard geometry and hyperangulated blades on different cadavers
  • Work in teams to perform a surgical airway, thoracostomy, thoracotomy, chest drain placement, lateral canthotomy, IO placement and run through an amputation.

The course is made up of 8 workstations, of which you will rotate around all. We’re fortunate to have a great depth of background and experience within the faculty, with a ratio of 1:1 faculty to candidate numbers, rotating round the difference workstations throughout the day.
