South Devon Fundraising spotlight

Blog
Our incredible fundraisers

Throughout 2023, our South Devon supporters were hard at work raising funds in support of Devon Air Ambulance. Here are a few of the highlights.

Blooming lovely

Aune Valley Meat in Kingsbridge raised money through their wildflower picking field at their Loddiswell Farm Shop & Café.

Customers were invited to explore the field and pick beautiful wildflowers with optional donations in the shop & café for Devon Air Ambulance. They said:

We still can’t quite believe how many people visited, or how much was raised, never did we think when we planted those seeds how well it would take off!

Devon Air Ambulance holds a special place in RJ’s and Bex’s hearts and they were delighted to be able to give something back to the amazing team that helped little Daisy almost a year ago. In total the wildflower picking raised an amazing £1,000 for DAA.

Thank you to our young farmers!

Tavistock Young Farmers Club supported us by selecting us as their Charity of the Year in 2023 raising a fantastic £1,856.42 with multiple fundraising events throughout 2022 and 2023. These included a pig racing night, a New Year’s bingo, and a big breakfast with Santa. Members of Tavistock YFC fundraised for Devon Air Ambulance in memory of Luke Searle, a young member of the farming community, following a tragic accident in 2022.

We feel extremely fortunate to have been among three charities chosen to benefit from a fantastic local event, Salcombe Crabfest 2023.

A cross-county effort

Another business that went the extra mile to demonstrate their support was Serpells Country Store in Yealmpton. Serpells hosted a Christmas raffle in the store for their customers, raising a fantastic £565 as well as awareness of our lifesaving work in the South Hams area and beyond.

Also in the South Hams area, we would like to say a huge thank you to Bigbury Golf Club Seniors for their annual support and continued fundraising efforts for us.

Finally, the wonderful Ivybridge rainbows kindly raised funds for us in 2023, after receiving a community talk from us and learning about the important work we do. Thank you to everyone involved for your commitment to support our charity.

It’s thanks to our supporters that we can continue responding, year after year and we are so grateful to them. There are hundreds of different ways to fundraise for us. Visit our fundraising pages for further inspiration.
