Devon Air Ambulance is the beneficiary of years of fundraising support.
Over the past decade, Exeter Round Table has donated over £250,000 to local charities and community groups, with a remarkable £100,000 going to Devon Air Ambulance during that time.
Last month Exeter Round Table hosted a charity presentation evening at the Coaver Club, Exeter, which saw representatives from over 15 local charities gather to receive donations, with the amounts ranging from £200 to £4500.
Among the charities in attendance were Devon Air Ambulance, Balloons, Jay’s Aim, Pete’s Dragons, Life Chance Trust, Hector’s House Rescue, Exeter Food Action, Devon Wildlife Trust, and Hospiscare, all of whom are recognised for their valuable contributions to the community.
Speaking at the event, Martyn Palmer, Chairman of Exeter Round Table, said:
It has been incredible to see all this money being donated to good causes. Hearing how this money is making a difference within our local communities has been amazing. And we couldn’t do it without the dedicated volunteers from Exeter Round Table who make our annual fireworks possible.
Russell Luscombe of Devon Wildlife Trust said, “Devon Wildlife Trust is very grateful to Exeter Round Table for such a generous donation. This will help our local conservation work, keeping sites such as Exeter’s six Valley Parks in great condition for wildlife; and support our learning and engagement activities with schools and community groups in the area.”
Jo-Anne Rigby, Head of Fundraising Devon Air Ambulance Trust also commented: “The generous support from Exeter Round Table’s charity firework event has made a significant difference to Devon Air Ambulance.
The contributions over the years have directly enabled us to continue providing life-saving emergency care across Devon, ensuring that we can reach patients quickly, even in the most remote locations. Thanks to the support we have received we’ve been able to invest in essential medical equipment and maintain our fleet of helicopters, which are critical in saving lives every day. The partnership with Exeter Round Table is not just about funding; it’s about saving lives, together. “ These donations have been made possible by the continued success of Exeter Round Table’s annual fireworks event at Westpoint, which is now in its 41st year.
