Our crew’s Christmas wishlist
For this year’s Christmas Appeal, we need your help with a special mission: to provide our 50-strong crew with new specialist flight suits.
Every day, our crew faces unpredictable and challenging situations. When our crew is focused on saving lives, they need gear that keeps them safe and adaptable. Specialist equipment is essential.
The new flight suits are made from advanced, stretchy, and lightweight materials, offering flexibility and protection in any weather.
Enhanced thermal properties help maintain stable body temperatures, keeping our crew warm and dry as they navigate Devon’s challenging landscapes. These suits are also more durable, built to withstand the rigors of flight and reduce wear and tear over time.
Wearing the specialist kit can help our crews to be prepared for multi-service incidents like the road traffic collision Sam faced in spring 2024. Sam’s dad told us:

But this essential gear doesn’t come cheap. Kneepads start at £15.95, while flight suit trousers cost up to £265, and jackets are £364 per crew member.
